Ombili Foundation – close to Kempinski Mokuti Lodge, Etosha
Some farmers from the Tsumeb region started this project in aid of the San (Bushmen).
Klaus-Jochen Mais-Rische provided the San with a sustainable environment on his farm Hedwigslust and gave 300 previously nomadic San a new home. Here, the San learn craftsmanship, how to keep cattle and to grow maize and beans.
The farm is situated North-East of Etosha’s Namutoni Gate.
Our guests can visit this project en route to Etosha and take part in a Bushman Arts and Crafts workshop, or a traditional cooking class, using plants found in the desert. Here you can learn more about the traditional life of the almost extinct Bushmen and enjoy a performance of the Omibli Choir.
