Bushman Experiences: A Special Team Building Adventure
The most ancient deserts, the Kalahari and Namib Desert, both magic and extraordinary places, still now host Bushmen, also known as San: the first inhabitants of Southern Africa. Through the centuries, this people matured a deep and intimate symbiosis with the nature and developed the capability to survive. We organize our Bush Craft Courses in closest partnership with these traditional communities, in the total deep respect of their cultures and traditions. Bushmen are part of our instructor’s team, and our guests experience a very close interaction.
This is what to expect when partaking in a Company Team Building experience:
After arrival in Windhoek, depart by private charter flight to the scenic Bushmanland. Here, you will stay close to the Bushman Community in your own exclusively set up private Camp. We learn how to light a fire the Bushmen way, make ropes and snares, bows and arrows, quivers, digging sticks and jewelry. You will prepare and taste traditional bush food; will be taught singing, dancing, games, and might learn a few words of this difficult language as well as a little song; you will shoot a bow, throw a spear and watch the traditional doctor healing a patient. You will also be taught to make your own ostrich egg pearls and jewelry in the old Bushmen tradition. During the programme you will walk in intimate groups accompanied by your Bushman host into the wild where you practice what you have learned over the duration of the course. You will stay one night in the wild, as the lonely hunter did whilst on a hunting trip in times past. Although food and water supplies are taken along, you will also attempt to live off the land.
The Bushman experience can be combined with a trip to Etosha or adventure activities at the Namibian coast. The ideal group size would be a minimum of 4 participants and maximum of 12 participants. Bigger groups can be arranged on request.
